It is with great pleasure that I introduce you to the John Dewey High School photography site. This site is intended to serve as a resource for our students who are currently studying photography. In addition, it will also serve as a showcase for some of the strongest images that come out of our darkroom. This site was designed by and is updated by Dewey students.
Most of the work that is displayed on this site was produced by students who have had little if any previous photography experience before coming to Dewey. These galleries are a tribute to their hard work and to their eagerness to explore the visual world around them.
Our photography program, a Fine Arts Department program, is open to all Dewey students. The elements and principles of design are stressed in the introductory classes and experimentation is encouraged in the advanced classes. I hope that you enjoy viewing our students' work.
